Painted Hills

Hi ladies! Thanks for all of the tips on my last post. I have come to the realization that those shoes are just not available. I searched every site that I know of and also emailed Chie Mihara customer service. They were kind enough to write back and let me know that they had done a search of their database, and the shoes were not available in my size anywhere. No worries though, I have already discovered a new Chie Mihara love! More on that later:)

Ben and I went camping this past weekend. We took all 3 dogs along as well. Trust me when I tell you that this is no small feat. Talus loves to run away and he is quite the escape artist, Zander has extreme anxiety (I believe he was mistreated before we adopted him), and Kya pretty much hates Zander, so much so that they have to be separated at all times. As you can imagine, this makes for some interesting times. I'm not sure what we were thinking when we decided to bring everyone along, but I'm glad we did. The trip went much better than I ever expected. The dogs had a blast, they got to run, play, and swim the whole time.

We went to central Oregon to see Painted Hills. We have been meaning to check it out since we moved here, and we finally made it happen.

I guess this is my OOTD:) I'm wearing a J. Crew tee and Joe's jeans.

Check out our campsite. Isn't is beautiful? We were pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There was no one else in sight. It was a little creepy at first, but it really was perfect for the dogs.

This is Zander, loving the outdoors. He is such a gorgeous guy.

Talus discovered that he really does like to swim:)

Fun with the camera!

I really, REALLY want need these shoes:

Chie Mihara "QUATRO 17 - NAMI LECHE"

The only place I can find them is the Chie Mihara website (here), and they are only available in one size (the wrong one). I have google/ebay searched like a crazy woman, but I cannot find them anywhere else. Any ideas???

Oh, honey honey

What I love most about our front yard:

Thank you, Ben for planting so many enticing flowers in our front yard. Watching all of these lovely bees makes me so very happy. Getting in some photography practice sessions makes me happy as well:)

More purple

This is another outfit from this past week inspired by my new purple nail polish (OPI's "honk if you love OPI").

Top: J. Crew
Cardigan: J. Crew Jackie
Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Dansko

I recently purchased a Fujifilm Instax 210 instant camera. I am loving it! It is so cool to watch the pictures develop:) I had to laugh at the size of it when it arrived - doesn't it look like a cartoon or something? Other than the size (which is really not much of a problem), I have no complaints whatsoever. The color of the prints is fantastic, it's easy to use, and it's the funnest thing ever!

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Dress Code

This is what I wore to work today. I don't show a lot of my work outfits because I think they are somewhat boring. My company has a very strict/weird dress code that does not allow for a lot of creativity, unfortunately. Putting together unique work outfits that I like, but that are still appropriate for my office is one of the biggest style challenge I have. Boooooo to corporate/business dress code!!!

I did end up liking my outfit today. J. Crew has such fabulous colors. I chose this outfit based on my new nail polish.

Top: J. Crew
Cardigan: J. Crew Jackie
Skirt: Anthropologie
Shoes: Dansko

I picked up OPI's "Honk if you love OPI" a few days ago. It is a gorgeous deep purple/grape color.

Dorrie

I've had my eye on the J. Crew Dorrie skirt for quite some time. I've seen a lot of ladies rocking the orange color around the blogosphere and I decided I should pull the trigger before the skirt sold out (now I see that the skirt has since gone on sale, and only a couple of sizes are left). I already have the Anthropologie Thousand Days skirt in burnt orange, so I went with the "Dragonfly Blue" color in the Dorrie. It is much darker IRL than it looks on the website (it's really more of a navy color). It's so cute though, I don't really care what color it is!

Sweet Tea

Happy weekend everyone! I hope yours is going well. I've had a busy day that started with a nice yoga class and ended with a delicious southern dinner and homemade chocolate mouse:) Dinner came from Miss Delta. They have the best sweet tea ever - it's super sweet, just how I like it. I think sweet tea is mostly a southern thing (very popular in NC, where I grew up). It's difficult to find here in Portland, but Miss Delta does it right.

This is an older Anthro (Floreat) dress. I don't know the name of it or when it came out. I bought it from a sweet friend and I LOVE it. It is comfortable, flattering, and has lots of gorgeous details.

Mmmmm, sweet tea!

Lilium

This top is one of my favorite pieces from the Liberty of London for target collection. Isn't the print fabulous? I also got a coffee mug in the same print. I love drinking tea out of it (aveda comforting tea, of course). Ahhhhh, so relaxing.

I wore this outfit last week. It made me feel very summery!

I've mentioned Ben's obsession with plants/flowers before, so I thought I would show off some of his hard work. It's sometimes frustrating to spend hours at plants nurseries with him and hear non-stop talk about the differences between different varieties of hebes:), but I just love our beautiful yard. Everything is growing, blooming, and smelling so lovely. Our front yard is like a little paradise! You can see some of the plants in the shots above, but here are a couple of close-ups.
